Q: Your Product Packaging Says Beyond Savings is from Omniscient Productions Inc. and provides different contact information. Which is correct?


A: Omniscient Productions Inc. is our parent (we are a group within the company) and is the original developer of Beyond Savings. OMPROD has shifted its focus to building information businesses and providing services for those businesses and BeyondSavings.com and the Beyond Savings team have taken over sales and development of the product line.

The correct contact information is what's listed on this web site.


Q: When was the product made? The copyright notices say 1997.

A: Beyond Savings Vol. 1 and II were completed in January of 1998, however the first product samples sent to testers during pre-release were in 1997. All printed materials were printed in advance and in bulk and reflect the earlier copyright date for our protection. One unintended result of preprinting all materials is a company move just PRIOR to completing the project is not reflected on the printed box or materials -- although it's noted on the program itself.

Because the economics of development favored mass printing of materials (but not tapes) we pre- printed a multi-year supply of manual and boxes in order to qualify for the printing discount. and have not updated these materials. Since we're selling the product directly via this web site, customers have easy access to us and up-to-date contact information.

The product was designed to have a long term life cycle and a 5 year revision term, with the next revision scheduled for release in 2003. We took great pains to focus on the fundamentals in this course, so the material remains relevant. By not reprinting costly packaging, we've been able to bring the price down to the more affordable level of $49.99 (compared to the original $98.97 price when we sold the product primarily to financial planners as a tool for their clients).


Q: Do I have to take 14 days to review the product?

A: Of course not. We suggest the 14 day cycle because of our believe that fully completing homework exercises and quizzes will lead to better learning and long term retention. In addition, there are 14 sections, making 1 section per day the easiest way to break it up. However, an accelerated program schedule of 7-10 days is very doable.

The video portion of the course can be watched in far less time. There are approximately 3 hours of video education and it can be watched in a single 3 hour session. The program producer, Reg Harris watched it straight through each day for several months during the final stages of production and says it's actually quite doable.

However, we do not recommend this as a way of retaining the material and gaining the most from it. The tapes are just a small part of the learning process. Doing the homework exercises and applying the concepts to your own family finances are the real keys to getting the most out of the program.


Q: Once I finish the program, do I contact you for investment advice?

A: No. Our role is to provide educational information to you. The program does that and this web site exist to help you use the program effectively. Although we work with a number of financial consultants in producing and testing this program, we are not financial advisors and do not dispense specific financial advice or endorse specific securities.

So if you're looking for advice on which stocks, bonds, liquid investments or funds to purchase or sell, we're are unable to assist you. If you're confused about something in the program, we can clarify it and/or point you in the right direction.
Importantly, the Beyond Savings program gives you the tools that can help you find your own resources.


Q: What guarantees do you offer?

A: We work with a high quality duplicator and have not have problems with our materials. That said, if a physical problem should occur with the product, you will need to contact support at support@beyondsavings.com to request an RMA. Once you have been issued an RMA, you can return the box and we will ship you a new copy.


Q: Do you guarantee financial results?

A: No. But then neither do any financial planners, organizations, or mutual funds. Markets shift and performance varies. What we do offer is access to sound financial principles and fundamentals, condensed into an easy to use at home medium. The fundamentals don't change much, and the principles Beyond Savings teaches are time tested.

The program is NOT a get rich quick method. It's a disciplined approach to lifelong financial understanding. The program is an easy and fast way to acquire this knowledge. There's no magic here and we readily admit you can achieve the same results with diligent research, lots of books, advisors and perhaps an economic lesson or two. We're just trying to make it easier for the average person.


Q: There's not much specific information regarding tax laws and retirement accounts?

A: True. Tax laws and retirement plan regulations (IRAs and 401Ks specifically) change very frequently and are beyond the scope of any product focusing on the fundamentals. Also, including a great deal of specifics on these areas would date our product quickly and negate its shelf life. However, once you understand the concepts in Beyond Savings, getting help with these matters is not that difficult.

Our long range goal is to gradually bridge the gap between our hard copy products and evolving tax laws with the BeyondSavings.com website and other unannounced products in our pipeline.

For some perspective: For what it is at $49.99, Beyond Savings is a bargain sweet treat. Everything else we provide or will provide is just more icing on the cake.


Q: Will you update the program prior to 2003? And will their be special upgrade pricing?

A: Beyond Savings Vol. 1 and 2 will be completely redone for the next version. We don't plan any interim revisions. While that sounds like a long time, work on the next version will actually commence in about 18-20 months. That gives us a small window to develop our web presence and extend our product line.

Speaking of the latter, we do have other products in the works. Our future products will be more integrated into the internet that our original release.

We can't comment on pricing issues yet, but we're aware that we have existing customers and we want to take care of them.


Q: How do I talk to a support person?

A: E-mail is the best way. For product issues, use support@beyondsavings.com. If there's a website issue, e-mail the webmaster webmaster@beyondsavings.com.


Q: Do you answer questions for prospective buyers?

A: We can, but you should contact sales@beyondsavings.com instead. The division of labor works better if support staff only helps existing customers. Pre-sales questions are low priority for support staff but high priority for sales staff.


Q: Why do you have support anyway? The product is on videotape. People don't support books!

A: This is true. Support needs are small. But if we didn't offer it, someone would get angry. On the other hand, our support staff is small and fits the current need and we have other responsibilities. For that reason we don't do pre-sales support.

We're like the Maytag repairman in the commercials of old. We're here if you need us, but rarely does anyone need us.


Q: What's the best advice for a newbie just starting with the program?

A: Keep watching and working at it. If something isn't clear, follow the advice on the tape... rewind and do it again. If it still isn't clear, keep going forward because the program frequently reviews material again in subsequent sections and sometimes that makes things clearer.
