Beyond Savings -- A Financial Primer

Beyond Savings is a personal finance course in a box, and may be the best way to learn personal financial planning. It starts right at the beginning covering the most basic fundamentals of budgeting and saving. From there it takes you on a journey to understanding investments, markets, and strategies.

With this program you'll get key background information that can be hard to find and is too often assumed. You'll learn the language, the nuances, the fundamentals, as well as the strategies of personal financial planning. Best of all, you'll discover a new way of thinking — “thinking financially”.

We've provided 14 sections to allow you (the viewer) to complete one section per day over a two week period. Each section includes an overview, lectures, illustrations and examples, common sense applications, and a wrap up review. This is followed by a quiz, covering the main principles. Then answers are reviewed, and a homework assignment is given finishing up the section. We do everything we can to make it fun and interesting.

The homework assignments aren't just academic —they apply section principles as practical tasks. Best of all, each section and homework assignment builds upon the previous one.

A valuable workbook is included in the package, providing brief summaries of each section, space for notes, and quizzes. It also includes worksheets offering a shortcut to several of the program's exercises.

While this program primarily benefits the young -- teens, young adults, young families, etc. -- it can also help those struggling with debt, or suddenly forced to assume control of their finances that a spouse had previously handled, and anyone comtemplating retirement.
